Introduction: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a genetic disorder characterized by high levels of LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) from birth. Treatment with statins and ezetimibe achieves in most cases large reductions in LDL-C. In those patients in whom the reduction in LDL-C is insufficient or who have intolerance to such treatments, the appearance of PCSK9 inhibitors has been an effective and safe alternative to achieve the LDL-C objectives.Materials and...
